As the world celebrates LGBTQ diversity throughout June’s Pride month—and on Sunday the 25th as global Pride Day—brands are celebrating too.

One noteworthy example (more here): Smart (and purpose-driven) luggage brand Raden is hosting a pop-up at The Grove in LA to celebrate Pride Month as it treks to the West Coast from its New York City HQ for the first time with a physical presence.

Along with its eye-catching rainbow-themed pop-up design, Raden is celebrating the addition of two new colors, red and purple.

Raden will donate 20% of sale proceeds to Outfest, the leading organization with a stated mission of promoting equality by creating, sharing and protecting LGBTQ stories on the screen.

Additionally, in a partnership with Give One, visitors who subscribe to the platform will receive a $30 Raden gift certificate.

Since its March 2016 launch, Raden has been a runaway success, and its Pride 2017 activation is just one way it’s giving back. The brand made $12M revenue in its first year alone, launched retail partnerships globally, gained a loyal following with celebrities and influencers, and boasted a 10,000 person waitlist earlier this year.

People are clamoring for its smarter case for travel – literally and figuratively. All Raden bags are equipped with an integrated scale, built-in-charger and location awareness technology, and coupled with their app, users can track their case and check information like security wait time.

Raden’s ecosystem includes an ergonomic carry handle doubling as a scale and for charging, the case has an integrated 7,800mAh battery that allows for up to 4x full phone charges, while two 2.1A USB ports enable dual device charging at the same time.

Its bags are also equipped with Bluetooth technology for keeping an eye on baggage.

“The $40 billion luggage industry was lacking a brand that integrated technology, value, and sleek industrial design into a single bag, so e spent nearly two years in stealth mode to develop a product and brand that does just that,” said Founder/CEO Joshua Udashkin.

“I have always greatly admired both organizations,” he added. “Outfest was established in LA and is really a part of the LA community, so it made sense to work together for our pop up during Pride Month. I also chose Give One because I’m a strong believer that a little bit goes a long way, and it’s such an easy way for everyone to give back.”

As for his personal impetus for giving back, Udashkin told us, “It’s always been very important to me to be a part of my community and recognize my duty to be an active global citizen. As Raden continues to grow, I feel it’s very important to continue giving back. Our rainbow pop-up is both a celebration of Pride Month and the Raden rainbow. I am incredibly happy that these two things came together in such an organic way and hope the LGBT community loves the Raden rainbow.”

Raden’s rainbow includes two new colors, red and purple and Udashkin explained, “red and purple were the two most requested colors from our customers. We figured we’d take the recommendations seriously and continue to grow our Raden Rainbow.”

As Coolhunting.com notes, “The biggest thing for Raden in the future isn’t designing 20 different suitcases, but continuing to develop their platform and flesh it out with more useful travel information—packaged beautifully to enhance the travel experience.”
